On June 9, our Escuela ELE USAL Strasbourg Spanish school receives Salome, granddaughter of the great Spanish writer, poet and philosopher, main exponent of the Generation of '98 and rector of the University of Salamanca from 1901-1914, Miguel de Unamuno.

Miguel de Unamuno in his work cultivated a wide variety of literary genres such as novels, essays, theater and poetry. In 1924 Unamuno was removed from his post as rector of the University of Salamanca by the dictator Miguel Primo de Rivera. He was banished to one of the Canary Islands, but took refuge in France.

Remember that in Salamanca is the House-Museum of Unamuno is a house located in the historic center of the city of Salamanca. Being a house belonging to the University built since the 18th century and dedicated to the Rectory during his term.

Shortly before dying, Unamuno his books to the University. There are, in total, about 6000 volumes, kept in his personal library, accumulated during his stay in Salamanca and Hendaye.
