VII INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF SPANISH IN CASTILLA Y LEÓN
The Palacio de Congresos de Salamanca hosts the seventh edition of the largest event around the teaching of Spanish for foreigners that will be held from June 26 to 28, 2023. The Junta de Castilla y León and the University of Salamanca, with the collaboration of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATPS), the Fundación Instituto Castilian y Leonés de la Lengua and the Salamanca City Council are the institutions that organize this event which is currently the most relevant in the Spanish sector for Hispanists, teachers, professionals and all those who in some way feel linked to the dissemination and teaching of Spanish throughout the world.
The first edition of this congress was held in 2008, and from then on there have been five editions that have been able to take place in person until 2018. The 2020 event, for reasons already sadly known, had to take place virtually and not It has not been until this 2023 when the face-to-face form was resumed again.
Under the title "Spanish for all", the Congress will have the participation of relevant personalities from the field of culture and the Spanish language such as Santiago Muñoz Machado, director of the Royal Spanish Academy of Language, or Luis García Montero, director of the Institute Cervantes, in addition to representatives of national and international institutions that have among their responsibilities the dissemination of our language and its teaching throughout the world and that seek to account for the advances in research on Spanish.
ELE USAL will also be present at this event since the director of ELE USAL Turin, Monica Bedana, will be one of the protagonists in the Congress with her communication “The translation competence of ELE teachers, 'hypercompetence' of the 21st century. Results and reflections of a communicative training experience”.
In addition, we take advantage of this event to have the Annual Meeting of ELE USAL Franchises, a point of reflection, collaboration and synergies between our Spanish language schools and of which we will inform you after those days.
