The Spanish ambassador to Iran visits the Spanish Language School of the University of Salamanca in Tehran.
The Spanish Language School of the University of Salamanca in Tehran (ELE USAL Tehran) received a distinguished institutional visit: the Spanish Ambassador to Iran, Mr. Antonio Sánchez-Benedito Gaspar, personally visited the center to learn firsthand about its academic work and its contribution to the promotion of Spanish in the country. The visit took place in an atmosphere of warmth, dialogue, and mutual respect.

During the visit, the center's director, Maryam Haghroosta, gave an overview of the history and evolution of the ELE USAL Tehran school. She explained how the project began as an ambitious and risky undertaking, but that having the University of Salamanca's brand has provided crucial support and a unique opportunity to consolidate Spanish language teaching in Iran. She also introduced the center's teaching staff, comprised of approximately fifteen teachers, mostly women, reflecting the strong commitment and leadership of women in education.

During his address, His Excellency the Ambassador of Spain to Iran highlighted the growing interest in Spanish language and culture in the country. He expressed his satisfaction with the existence of ELE USAL Tehran and emphasized the exceptional nature of this project. The ambassador also expressed his joy and pride in seeing how Spanish continues to gain ground as a language of communication and culture in such diverse contexts.

Furthermore, thanks to the University of Salamanca's International Courses program, five scholarships were offered to teachers from the school to participate in a teacher training course in Salamanca next June.
The ambassador toured the school's facilities and shared his impressions with the teaching staff. The diplomat particularly praised the school's modern and welcoming design, while the teachers expressed their enthusiasm for a visit that reinforces the institutional recognition of their work and strengthens the academic and cultural ties between Spain and Iran.
