III Congreso internaciona de Español como lengua extranjera, ELE USAL Costa Rica – Universidad de Iberoamérica
From August 5 to 8, 2019, in the province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica, the III International Congress of Spanish as a Foreign Language was held. The event was attended by speakers from institutions such as the University of Illinois, the Cervantes Institute, the University of Costa Rica, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the University of Alicante, the Diego Portales University, the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua; as well as participants from Guatemala, the United States, Chile, Bolivia and Venezuela. In this third edition, the congress had inclusive education, specific educational needs and disabilities in language teaching as thematic axes; the conversations on gender and the LGTBIQ population; the need for the educational process in conjunction with the community and education for migrants and heritage speakers
The International Congress of Spanish as a Foreign Language is defined as an academic event, whose main purpose is to establish itself as a space for dissemination that promotes enrichment and collective growth, based on the exchange of significant experiences between teachers and students interested in teaching Spanish. as a foreign language and other languages. In turn, this seeks to encourage educational and pedagogical thinking based on research and intellectual production in order to promote updated and innovative educational practices in accordance with contemporary educational needs, as a strategy to transform educational processes in Costa Rica and other countries.
The event was organized by the School of Spanish Language of the University of Salamanca ELE USAL Costa Rica together with the collaboration of the University of Ibero-America (UNIBE). We share photos of the event.
